Game Makers & AI Creators

Ages 8–9 12 sessions over 3 months Group of 4 to 6 students

About the course

A journey that starts with core coding concepts (sequencing, events, and loops) through Game Lab and App Lab — building arcade games and simple apps with blocks. Your child then enters the world of AI with PictoBlox, learning computer vision, speech recognition, and machine learning to build real AI projects hands-on.

What will they learn?

  • Core coding concepts: sequencing, events, and loops
  • Use Game Lab and App Lab to build arcade games and interactive apps
  • Creative thinking and design for professional game development
  • Programming logic and applying it to complete and share projects
  • Conditionals, loops, and variables
  • AI branches: computer vision, speech recognition, and machine learning
  • Build complete AI projects using PictoBlox

Graduation projects:A PlayStation-style game & a smart assistant

By the end of the course, your child walks away with two real projects they can be proud of — a PlayStation-style interactive platformer, and a smart assistant powered by AI that answers questions with its own voice.

Project 1

Play Quest — a PlayStation-style platformer

  • Design the game screens (Start, Game, Game Over)
  • Program a character that runs, jumps, and collects points
  • Use loops and conditionals for player movement
  • Add a score counter and difficulty levels

Project 2

ChatQuest — an AI smart assistant

  • Build a chatbot with blocks in PictoBlox
  • Use speech recognition so it replies out loud
  • Train a computer vision model to recognize images
  • Try simple machine learning together with your child
