PROGRAM INFORMATION

At This program, students shall begin their journey by learning the fundamentals of programming and the use of design to solve a global challenge, by using block-based visual programming and computer science concepts through solving coding challenges to build and increase students’ Decision making,  Problem-Solving, self-management, Teamwork & Collaboration Skills.

Using the Engineering Design Process (EDP), the students derive solutions to a mentioned problem/challenge through program sessions implementing the STEAM approach and the usage of Technology to build and raise their social responsibility through the program.

During the course students will learn and implement the following concepts:

  • Get introduced to trending technological fields

  • Get introduced to basic design principles and the use of design to solve problems.

  • Understand the concept of algorithms and program sequencing in Computer Science.

  • Design and build program algorithms to perform certain tasks.

  • Understand the concept of loops and events in Computer Science.

  • Get introduced to the usage of sensors.

  • Understand the need of storing data in a program.

  • Understand the concept of variables in Computer Science.

  • Create programs that use variables to store and modify data.

  • Create programs that include sequences, events, loops, and conditionals.

  • Decompose (break down) problems into smaller, manageable subproblems to facilitate the program development process.

  • Compare and refine multiple algorithms for the same task and determine which is the most appropriate.

  • Test and debug (identify and fix errors) a program or algorithm to ensure it runs as intended.

  • Solve MakeCode coding puzzles.

  • Increase Creativity in the design and implementation of programs.

  • Use an iterative process to plan the development of a program.
